How to Create Outstanding Work in the Age of Average Content

When production becomes cheap, speed is no longer enough. Judgment, depth and originality become more valuable.

Average content is now abundant. That does not make outstanding work less valuable. It makes the bar for what counts as outstanding clearer.

Outstanding work still starts with a point of view. It still requires taste. It still asks whether the idea is worth saying, not just whether it can be said quickly.

Speed is not a strategy

Speed helps when you already know what you are building. It does not replace the work of deciding what deserves to exist.

In a world where anyone can generate ten acceptable versions of something, the scarce resources become judgment, context, and the willingness to reject what is merely fine.

What I try to protect

I try to protect the parts of the process that cannot be automated: choosing the problem, understanding the audience, deciding what to leave out, and taking responsibility for the result.

That is where outstanding work still lives.
